Applications using Compatible Java SE 1.4.x runtime environments
Developers marketing an application that uses current desktop Java software, specifically the Java SE 1.4.x (or higher) compatible Java runtime environment, can apply to use the Java Powered logo by joining the Sun Partner Advantage Program program (free) and registering their application.
Java Verified program
The Java Verified Program outlines Testing Criteria to test, certify, and market Java ME applications. Any application that successfully meets the program guidelines and becomes certified via the test processes will be granted use of the logo. Find out more about the Java Verified Program.
Java Technology Licensees:
If you are a Java ME or Java CardTM licensee, you should be eligible to use the Java Powered logo according to the terms and conditions stated in the Trademark License Agreement in your contract. standards of interoperability and support criterion.

OpenSolarisTM Logos |

Use this
When it comes to Sun's [OpenSolaris Trademarked logos] ("logos," for short), there are some cool things you can do and some cool things you can't do - at least not without asking Sun.
You may make things like t-shirts, desktop wallpaper, or baseball caps with OpenSolaris logos on them, though only for yourself and your friends (meaning people from whom you don't receive anything of value in return).
You can't put the OpenSolaris logo on anything that you produce commercially -- at least not without receiving Sun's permission. You can’t use the OpenSolaris logo on any distributions or components, such as repositories, without permission.
You also can't modify the OpenSolaris logos, except its size. Any scaling must retain the original proportions of the logo.
- If presented in multiple colors, the logo should only use the "official" logo colors (which includes black and white versions, where appropriate).
- You may use transparency and gradient/depth tools but should retain the "official" colors.
- A monochrome version in black or white is acceptable in certain situations, if the use requires it (e.g. desktop backgrounds).
Before you apply
If your use fall into a category that requires Sun permission, make sure you include a Sun Employee contact name and give a complete description of how and where the logo will be used.
VENDORS: Please include the following information in the "Description" field:
- Name of Sun Contact
- Description of product/advertisement in development
- Name of Company (vendor)
- Projected Media Deadline
PRESS: Please include the following information in the "Description" field:
- Name of Publisher
- Name of Article, Book, and/or Website Title

The Sun Center of Excellence logo is only for the use of educational institutions that have been contractually accepted as part
of Sun's COE program. Only a limited number of institutions are selected to be
COEs (<100) and this logo is intended only for use by these member institutions and (since the COE program involves a third
party with Sun and the institution) their contractual partners. The logo should be requested from the COE Program Manager
within the Education LOB.
